Thank God for the suction cup…..

At first I was disappointed at the performance of this product…The signal was horrible and kept dropping even with the larger of the two antennas. I then tried attaching the antenna on top of my laptop using the grip provided in the package and that did not work either so then I tried buying an usb extender cable and attaching the antenna to the window using the suction cup provided in the package, and then my world changed dramatically. This antenna is very powerful if placed in the right spot. This antenna picked up more signals than my supposed more powerful yagi that I purchased about 2 years ago for around $100.00 on ebay and it also performed faster. I am now more than pleased with this product. Good thing I didn’t write the review before attaching the antenna to my bedroom window.

I love this WiFi Network Adapter! I was staying in an RV park with WiFi but I was far enough away that I kept losing the signal. I purchased this gadget and never had a problem again. I recomended it to another person in the park and, after seeing how well it worked on my laptop, he could hardly wait to order two of them. One for his laptop and one for his wife’s. It is so easy to use. Just plug the extension cable into any USB port, clip it to the top of your screen (or use the handy suction cup) and you are ready to go. I will tell everyone about this product!!!

I used to connect to a wifi signal through my internal wireless card on my laptop. The connection was always only 1 bar (Very Low). Got this puppy today & connected to the same network with 4 bars (Very Good)! It’s boosting my range by at least 4 times & that is indoors connecting to a router in another structure! I LOVE IT!

Why didn’t I do this a long time ago? I bought a lynksis wireless G adapter and received a “very low” signal. I bought a Netgear WNDA3100 and received a “very low” signal. Neither of these has a built in antenna. I purchased the Alfa and “holy cow.” I’m now 5 bars and excellent. I’m getting signals from all over the neighborhood. I wish I would have done this years ago!

A little about my internet connection. I live in a 24-floor apartment building. Wireless is free. Yep, you can guess what that means. People use and abuse the connection intermittently. I had days where I would take minutes to load up Google. Sometimes we’d complain and the landlord would get some tech support guy to kick off the torrenters. My ping in L4D would go from 150-9,000 on bad days.

Got the Alfa adapter to solve this. It brought up my signal strength from 4 bars to 5, and this is coming from an Intel 6200 wifi card which is known for good range. Guess that big antenna really works. My L4D ping went to the high 80s/low 90s and I haven’t experienced nearly as many lag spikes in the 2 hours I’ve played. Webpages load a lot faster.

Bottom line – It works on my Vista 64-bit machine. It does what it’s supposed to do. Strengthens my connections. Doesn’t solve the fact that I’m sharing my connection with at least 8 other people on my floor, some who often torrent. I’ll probably use it another week before deciding whether I want to sign up for my own dedicated internet service. If any of you ever see it up for sale under my name, that PROBABLY means I’ve given up and decided to sign up for AT&T DSL.

Easy to install

I have written a review for the same model # as this one without the extras (longer antenna and remote clip), Same good remarks apply. With a few additions. The extra antenna is HUGE and HEAVY. I had to tie wrap to a post to keep it from falling over. The USB extender cable and clip is a life saver as it allowed me to place it where I could do that.
Here is the odd part – The 9dBi antenna does not show any more bars then the standard antenna nor a Belkin WiFi 802.11n without an external antenna. It is also does not see any additional sites. HOWEVER, despite that, using CNET or Speakeasy internet speed tests show a 30-40% improvement in download speeds on the 9dBi vs the standard(4dBI I believe) antenna. Impressive. This is on a Windows 7 system. I have still not done extensive testing on Linux yet but it works OK there. See my review on the Alfa AWUS036NEH without the extras.

Bought this dongle with extension as my nephew lives in the basement of a complex with limited windows and was having trouble connecting to the internet in the rest of the complex, but this little beauty works wonderfully and was very happy with the price as well. I would definitely recommend it.

i got this booster for my laptop and it works great! i have a 5 bars now not like before that i have usually had 2 or 3 bars.. it just took me 4-5 minute to set it on my laptop..i would definitely recommend this to somebody who wants to have a very good signals on their laptop!

Easy set up, works right out of the box. Great quality. Definately recommend except if you need to put the antenna further away from your computer, get extension USB cable as one supplied is about 36″L.
