Yeah…these things work or they don’t. This one did work, very well. Great length, great price. It hooks up, it works. There was much rejoicing. Yay.

An adequate answer

I noticed a few reviews stating this product does not meet the requirements to be classified cat5. While I’m not a engineer, I am capable of running speed tests. My comcast connection (advertised at 30mb/s download and 5mb/s upload) clocked in around advertised speeds with this cable. I needed a long cord to deliver reliable speeds from my router upstairs to my media center downstairs. This cord was able to fill the role admirably, especially for the cost.

The cable is clearly a low quality build. The thin casing around the wires has already started to detach from one end of the cable. While this has not caused any problems yet, it shows the cord is not very durable. I can also confirm that the wires aren’t twisted as noted in a previous review.

All that said, this cord still performed as needed. If you’re on a budget and need to hard wire from a distance, this cable should work just fine. If you’re looking for better build quality, durability, and speed consistency, you will want to spend a bit more money on a better product.

Ordered This Cord So I Can Hook Up Another 360 (To Go On Live, Pwn Noobs, Etc)To The Internet.
Arrives In A Bag Labeled XXL 30M (30 Meters = 98.4251969 Feet) But It Actually Measures Around 102.67 Feet Tied With Twisty Ties On Ether Side,
I Do However Think That The End-caps Are A Bit Awesome In Style (Not As Much As The Fonzie, But Close)

Recently subscribed to Clear 4G Wimax internet service which requires specific location placement of the modem for best reception and performance of the internet signal. This 5e 100 foot Ethernet cable allowed me to install the Wimax modem high in my attic for the best reception without any loss of signal through the 100 foot of Ethernet cable to my desktop computer.

This was the cable I needed to connect my computer to my Moxi DVR. I had to work from a second floor to the basement and then back up to the first floor. It was a struggle to get everything routed, but it worked very nicley. I can watch movies from my Flicker instant que streamed from my computer to my TV.

This is close to the lowest priced (+ shipping) 100 ft. cable I’ve found at Amazon. So the only thing I was not sure when I bought it was its quality, as some reviewer for similar products mentioned poor quality or even used products tagged as new. This one arrived in good shape. I’ve seen many different network cables and this should be regarded as fair/good (I didn’t cut it and look inside though). I have no problem using it for about two weeks. Recommend.

BTW, the product is just a common network cable. Don’t be confused if you read only linksys or d-link in the title. The product seemed to be shipped out by the seller’s partner (which is common nowadays) so I guess from time to time the exact cable would be from different sources (and manufactures).
