I got it because I wanted a bigger screen than my WP7 Samsung but more portable than a laptop. Also wanted to try an android device.
I was a little leery because of a few problematic reviews but after getting it I love it.
Screen is better quality than I expected. Despite being lower res than more expensive tablets, it looks crisp and clear. Android 2.3 works great also.I’ve heard that ICS works better and can be upgraded through the IVIEW website, but If everything I want to work on it works, I may not change it (If it ain’t broke…). So far everything does, including Netflix, which I have read to be a problem. I ordered an RJ45 ethernet adapter because I work in locations without wi-fi. The adapter said it was for android tablets with Android 3.2 and up so if it does not work I will upgrade.
I love the OTG usb cable. It easily reads flash drives and peripherals (like mouse, trackball and keyboard).
Battery life is actually pretty good. I have gotten a good five hours as the specs promised. Not being very experiences with tablets this may or may not be great.
It may not be an Ipad (I wouldn’t know because I’ve never had one) but it is a good, comfortable and convenient tablet.
UPDATE: The Ethernet Adapter works just fine with my Iview and its Android 2.3 operating system. But I now have tried a couple of Android 4.0 tablets and saw that ICS does not seem to support ethernet. Also the 760 TCPS are now coming with Android 4.0 so I can’t say if it’ll work. Still a nice little tablet (I wouldn’t pay over $100 for it at this point though).
I was looking for an android tablet, but really couldnt justify spending hundreds of dollars, so i searched the interwebs for a while and checked out the reviews on newegg and amazon. People rated this tablet really well, mostly because of the cpu.
After getting this friday…
its awesome. Touchscreen is flawless.
its thinner than it looks in the pictures. Its actually thicker than my droid phone.
No intense lags on, minor ones…but nothing thats bad
batterys just okay after changing the phone files
Thinking of changing to ICS but stock gingerbread with beautiful widgets app is awesome.
Wireless is decent but 3/4 bars close to router
Overall…
Its amazing for $120-130…far better than i was expecting.
Just make sure you go to tabletrepublic theyve listed excellent youtube videos on how to change the phone files…dont be scared its really easy.
Conclusion:
Very impressed and pleased with the iView 760TPC overall. There are a couple of things I wish it did better, but they are minor. Do I wish I would have spent more money and got a Kindle fire, sometimes, but would I recommend this to someone that wanted a budget android tablet, Absolutely. Would I buy this again, yep. For the price, this thing really does a lot very well! Lots of fun for the dollar.
I was skeptical based on the price and lack of brand name, but upon receiving it and having it here at the office, I’ve been generally very impressed by it (so is the intern). The battery has held its charge well, Netflix streams clearly, the touch screen is fairly responsive, and it comes with a cover/carrying case.
For being under $120, having Google Play, and coming with a good amount of internal memory, I don’t think there is a better value in the tab market right now. Only reason not a five star review is the buttons on the outside feel cheap, but otherwise, great product!
