Monster Cable MP PL300-8 PowerLine 300, 8ft High Performance Detachable IEC Power Cord

I got this power cord for my Cambridge 740C CD player. Then I see a remarkable improvement of the sound especially the details and the bass from all my speakers and headphones.(Denon D5000, DT990, AKG Q701, M-Audio DSM2, JBL 2325) I will absolutely buy another two of these cables for my M1DAC and M1HPA. This is a recommended power cord which can update the original cable and improve sound quality with a relatively lower price (compared to PS audio or Audio quest).

I’ve always used ‘after market’ cables (analog & digital interlinks as well as speaker cables) in my systems and thought it was time to try something other then the ‘in the box’ power cord on my Yamaha THX receiver. I hooked up this real Monster and yes it’s a BIG heavy cable and I needed to rewire my rack to get this python sized cable plugged into my Monster Power Center and with the very first track I played from Flim & the BB’s release ‘This Is A Recording’ (I know this CD like the back of my hand) I was amazed with the improvement of my B&W DM640 speakers! They have always been great speakers but the entire soundstage just opened up: bass was tighter, midrange was cleaner & the treble had more air & breath.
To prove and confirm what my ears were hearing I asked my wife to listen to some of her favorite songs and didn’t tell her of my new ‘tweak’ and she started looking around to see where the ‘new’ piece of gear was! She & I are hearing things in the mix that we hadn’t heard before (but it’s on the disc). I’ve made alot of changes/tweaks with my main system over the years and this was not only one of the best but also one of the cheapest overall.
It also has made watching HDTV, DVD & Blu-ray’s that much more enjoyable. Bottom line…if you have an A/V receiver, amp, pre/pro, anything with a detachable IEC power cable this is great investment to the overall sound of any A/V system!
